Job Description

This is a key post, working closely with the Project Co-Ordinators of Blackpool Tiggers and My Town Tiggers.

The candidate will be required to input training, organisational and administrative leadership for both organisations. It requires a committed and enthusiastic individual, with drive, energy, and a determination to build on success. The post requires the ability to build external training services to ensure the long term self sustainability of training for Tiggers.

Key duties will include:

Providing leadership in:-

· Evaluation of organisational training needs

· Ensuring the systematic assessment of individual training needs against organisation need

· Sourcing appropriate training providers for internal and external training

· Sourcing funding for training provision

· Relationships and liaison with external training bodies

· Quality Assurance of training provision, including externally recognised standards such as Investors in People, Investors in Volunteering etc.,

· Development and delivery of training events and opportunities

· Mentoring volunteers in the administration and delivery of training

· Supporting volunteers on placement

· Undertaking an appropriate course of training to support development in this role

· Promoting take up of training opportunities

· Monitoring and evaluation of training programme and outcomes

· Promotion of training service on full cost recovery basis with view to ensuring post is self sustainable within 18 months. · Promotion of training facilities available at South Lodge to generate revenue

· Formulating guidance on training for the ‘MyTownTiggers’ toolkit

· Deputising in the absence of the Project Co-Ordinator and assisting in the day to day management of the office

Job Profile:
We are looking for a welfare benefit outreach adviser to start as soon as possible.
Based in Blackpool and working under the guidance of the Advice Link Coordinator, the post holder will be working across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre with some of the most vulnerable and socially excluded individuals, assisting them to access welfare benefits, legal advice, education, training, housing and employment.
Current knowledge of the benefits and tax credits system is essential.
You will preferably have experience of visiting customers in their own home, excellent communication skills both written and oral and be computer literate.
With a minimum of five GCSEs at A -C including English and Maths, a current driving licence and use of a car is essential.
Funding is dependent on project performance.

This position is currently funded until 2014.

CHILDREN’S INDEPENDENT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVISORS (CIDVA) 3 posts

Following successful funding bids to Comic Relief, the Home Office and Nationwide, Blackpool Advocacy is looking to recruit 3 CIDVA’s to add to the existing adult IDVA service provision.  Working with children and young people who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse you will provide a pro-active, short to medium term, solution focused service within a multi-agency framework.
The service will be delivered through both 1-1 and group work.

Posts are initially for 12 months with the probability of continuation funding for all 3 posts.  Salary SCP scale 24-27 £20,591 – £22,664

INDEPENDENT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVISOR (IDVA)

IDVA’s are trained specialists whose goal is the safety of survivors (male and female) with particular focus on providing a premium service to those at high risk of harm. Advocates focus on risk assessment and risk management and offer support through the Criminal Justice System.  Salary SCP 24-27 £20,591 rising to £22,664 following probation and CAADA training.  Initially until 31 March 2009, with very strong probability of 3 year continuation funding

All positions are open to both male and female candidates and are for 37 hours per week.  Enhanced CRB and use of own vehicle required.
